Bhangra & Beats Night Market lands at Yerba Buena Gardens on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., turning the Great Lawn and surrounding blocks into San Francisco's biggest open-air South Asian party of the summer. The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival bills it as the first time the event has anchored at this downtown arts campus.

Non Stop Bhangra leads the floor with interactive dance lessons, live dhol drumming, DJs, and performances that mix Punjabi tradition with Bay Area club energy. Vendor rows cover food, local makers, community activations, and family-friendly activities across Yerba Buena Gardens, Jessie Square, and Yerba Buena Lane.

Why downtown matters for South Asian planners

Previous Bhangra & Beats editions built a reputation as the only outdoor celebration of this scale in the Bay dedicated to South Asian culture. Moving to Mission Street between 3rd and 4th puts the market steps from BART and Muni, which matters when you are stacking dinner, dancing, and late BART home in one Friday.

The festival also lists a November 13 companion date on the same campus. If you miss July, bookmark fall, but July is the summer anchor before school schedules tighten.

Practical tips

Arrive early if you want floor space for the open dance segment. Food lines spike after the first dhol set, and restaurant partners on Jessie Square often run specials tied to the market.

Pair the night with a Lotus Festival road trip the prior weekend if you are building a California API summer loop. For a broader food-fest map, see our summer food festivals list.
