Seattle Bon Odori marks its 94th year July 18–19, 2026 at Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple with street dancing, Matsuri Taiko, food booths, and a beer garden with Two Story Zori. Admission is free; food and drinks are cashless.

Seattle Bon Odori celebrates its 94th year in 2026 at Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple in the Chinatown-International District. The official festival page describes Bon Odori as a centuries-old Buddhist remembrance tradition observed as a joyful community gathering: street dancing, food booths, cultural displays, and a beer garden with live music. The event is a Seafair-sanctioned community festival and has been part of the Seafair calendar for more than 70 years.

  • Saturday, July 18: 3:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. (beer garden closes 10:00 p.m.)
  • Sunday, July 19: 3:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.

Dance practices

Free public dance practices run July 7–9 and July 13–14 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Seattle Betsuin Gymnasium at 1427 S Main Street. Doors open at 7:20 p.m. 2026 Bon Odori merchandise is sold at practices.

Admission, food, and drinks

  • Admission: Free. All are welcome to join dancing and festivities.
  • Payments: Cashless for food, drinks, and merchandise; credit card readers on site.
  • Beer garden: Ages 21+; draft beer, sake, seltzers, and wine. Two Story Zori plays both evenings.

The temple encourages carpooling and transit. First Hill Streetcar riders can use 14th Ave S & S Washington St and walk one block south. King County Metro routes 7, 14, 36, and 106 serve S Jackson St near 12th and 14th Ave S.

Parking: Very limited paid parking at the temple lot at 16th Ave S and S Main St. Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood.
