Bellaire Diwali 2026 at Bellaire Civic Center

Bellaire Diwali is on the community calendar for Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Bellaire Civic Center, 7008 South Rice Avenue.

This is the City of Bellaire, the small municipality inside the Loop, not Bellaire Boulevard in Asiatown. People mix those up. The Civic Center is a municipal hall on South Rice.

Bellaire Desi Group has run Holi and Diwali here for years. A 2023 piece in Bellaire High's Three Penny Press said the first editions were upstairs at the Family Aquatic Center in 2008, then moved to Zindler Park as the crowd grew. In 2024 the city calendar still had them at Zindler. In 2025 they were back in the Civic Center. The 2026 listing is the hall again.

The group organizes both holidays for South Asian families in Bellaire and the nearby streets. The 2026 card names Raas Garba and Dandiya with Rita Singh, plus Indian food. Admission is posted at $45 for adults and $20 for children 5 to 12. Buy on bellairediwali.com before you treat those numbers as final. The organizer shop page is still thin on 2026 copy.

Hillcroft's Gandhi District is a short drive if you want mithai first. The Civic Center itself is not a bazaar street. Four hours, dinner energy, then dance. Parking is the civic-center lot and nearby street. Give yourself Rice Avenue time after 5.

The same Saturday, HTX Diwali at POST is free downtown from 11 a.m., with a rooftop DJ later. You can do POST in the afternoon and Bellaire at night if you want both, but the drives and the rooms are different. POST is a food-hall building. This is a ticketed community dinner.

Our take: use this if you want a local Bellaire night and you will actually buy the ticket. If you want a free field or a deck party, POST that afternoon or Levy Park on November 14 is the clearer public date.
