HTX Diwali 2026 at POST Houston
Tx2 Dance Company and POST Houston host the second HTX Diwali on Saturday, October 24, 2026, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., at 401 Franklin Street. Free with RSVP. Rooftop classes, a market, and a late DJ.
Free admission

Tx2 Dance Company and POST Houston are hosting the second HTX Diwali on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The listing says 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 401 Franklin Street, across Skylawn, the X Atrium, and POST Market.
Last year's first edition was September 13, 2025, the same rooftop-and-atrium shape. Indo American News put attendance over 5,500. This one sits later, closer to the actual holiday. It is free if you RSVP. Festive clothes are welcome.
The day starts on the rooftop with yoga and a sound bath from Black Swan Yoga. Bring a mat if you are doing that hour. Midday is the indoor market, henna, crafts, a House of Devi art pop-up, a Bollywood and garba lesson with Tx2, and a baraat plus fashion show with Dakshin USA. Houston Bhangra Academy has a rooftop class in the afternoon.
Late afternoon moves back to Skylawn for story time, a performance showcase, and a community dance-along. DJ Sandeep Sulhan is listed for rooftop dancing from 7 p.m. The page header still says the building closes at 10. The itinerary runs the deck until 11. Check the POST page the week of.
This is the same building as the Filipino American History Month Festival on October 11. Downtown again. Same parking problem. METRORail to the Downtown Transit Center still beats circling Franklin after dark.
Houston now has a string of public Diwali dates: Asia Society on October 18 for the short family afternoon, this POST Saturday for a downtown day that turns into a deck party, and Levy Park on November 14 for the free outdoor mela closer to the holiday. Actual Diwali is November 8, when ISKCON has the candlelight aarti.
Bellaire Diwali is the same Saturday night at the Civic Center, listed at $45 for adults. Confirm that ticket before you split the evening.
Our take: RSVP if you want a free downtown Diwali that includes dance class and a rooftop. If you want fireworks and a park field, wait for Levy Park in November.
When: October 24, 2026, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Free with RSVP.
Where: POST Houston, 401 Franklin St, Houston, TX 77201
