Bay Area Diwali Festival 2026 at Cupertino Memorial Park

The City of Cupertino lists its Diwali Festival Saturday, October 17, 2026, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Park, 21121 Stevens Creek Boulevard. The city calls it a sponsored event run by an outside organizer. No door price is on the city card.

The City of Cupertino lists Diwali Festival for Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Park, 21121 Stevens Creek Boulevard. That date and clock are the lock. Use the cupertino.gov Festivals page, not a chamber calendar leftover.

The city page says it is a City-sponsored event managed by an external organization, and it points to the organizer’s webpage for details. The city card does not print a vendor count, a stage grid, or a door price. Skip any 13,000-attendee line you see on an old recap until the city reprints it. Treat walk-up cost as unconfirmed until the organizer page the city links says otherwise.

Older Chamber of Commerce pages have circulated October 11, 2025, with last year’s layout graphic. That is leftover copy. Do not treat a chamber Saturday as 2026. As of late September 2026, cupertinochamber.org does not even resolve cleanly in DNS. Stick to the city card.

The park sits on Stevens Creek at the De Anza edge of town, not downtown San Jose. This is a civic lawn festival: vendors, stage, and a family crowd that already uses this park for city fairs. Memorial Park is also Cupertino’s veterans memorial landscape, so festival Saturdays share space with a quieter commemorative core. The city map pin is Memorial Park, not City Hall on Torre Avenue.

Cupertino’s parks calendar treats Diwali as one of its tagged exhibitions-and-festivals dates, which is why the city page is the cleanest primary URL even when programming details live with the outside organizer. If you need bag rules, vendor names, or a stage order, follow the organizer link the city posts rather than guessing from an old flyer screenshot.

Stevens Creek traffic stacks on festival Saturdays. Give yourself time from 280 or Foothill. Bring sunscreen and a plan for the 6:00 p.m. close, which is earlier than a fairgrounds fireworks night. Confirm the organizer page the city links closer to the date if you need a vendor list or a bag policy.

AIA's Dussehra Diwali Dhamaka is the same Saturday at Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. That one is ticketed, with Ravan Dehan and fireworks running into the night. Cupertino is the Peninsula park if you want a daytime lawn and a 6 p.m. exit. You cannot honestly do both Saturday nights. Pleasanton's fireworks run later.

FOG Diwali Mela is the next Saturday, October 24, at Washington High in Fremont. San Jose Diwali Carnival is that same October 24 downtown. Cupertino is the South Bay park date a week earlier.

Who this is for: Cupertino, Sunnyvale, and west San Jose families who want a Saturday in the park without buying a fairgrounds ticket first. Skip it if you need fireworks and a late clock. Pleasanton is that show.

Our take: go here if you live on the Peninsula and want the city park date. Drive to Pleasanton if you want the ticketed night. Do not use the chamber’s 2025 Saturday.

When: October 17, 2026 (11 a.m.–6 p.m.)
Where: Memorial Park, 21121 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014
