The International Film Festival of South Asia Toronto lists October 8–18, 2026 for its 15th edition. Gala premieres and most public screenings sit at Cineplex Cinemas Courtney Park, 110 Courtneypark Drive East in Mississauga. Kickoff, music nights, and industry sessions also use Brampton venues, including the Courtyard by Marriott at 90 Biscayne Crescent and Nuvo Event Space at 7920 Mississauga Road for the October 9 opening gala.

IFFSA calls itself the largest South Asian film festival in North America. The 2026 grid mixes competition features, Spectrum and Kaleidoscope blocks, Unquiet titles, and special events that stretch past pure premiere nights. Festival notes say films are for ages 18 and up. Ticket orders are capped at eight, with a BMO cardholder 25% discount code (BMO 25) posted on the tickets page for most film and event seats outside the opening gala.

Thursday, October 8 opens with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff reception at the Courtyard in Brampton, then gala premieres at Courtney Park including Shahrbanoo Sadat's No Good Men at 7 p.m. and Trust Me, I'm a Doctor. Friday's opening gala at Nuvo runs red carpet at 5 p.m., cocktails at 6, dinner and awards at 7, and an after-party at 10. The weekend stacks more Mississauga screenings, including Tum Rahe Na Tum, Anupama, Rubaiyat Hossain's Difficult Bride, and Strong Son, plus Brampton music nights that toast Dharmendra. The run continues through Sunday, October 18.

Courtney Park is a suburban Cineplex, not a King West art house. Drive or GO-and-rideshare with parking time built in. Brampton special events are a separate pin on Mississauga Road or Biscayne Crescent, so do not assume one lot covers both the gala party and the next day's matinee. Build buffer if you are stacking a Friday Nuvo dinner with a Saturday Mississauga screening.

Buy through iffsatoronto.com/tickets. Individual film pages carry Buy Tickets links once you pick a title. Download or email confirmations before you leave. Hotmail, Live, and Outlook addresses sometimes miss the auto email, so save the order page or PayPal receipt.

Who this is for: GTA South Asian film fans who will drive to Mississauga for premieres, and industry guests targeting Brampton nights. Skip bringing teens unless you have confirmed an exception; the posted rule is 18+. Pair a weekend screening with Diwali Razzmatazz at Celebration Square the same October 9–11 window if you want a free plaza night after a matinee. Opening gala seats at Nuvo are a separate, higher-priced buy from individual film tickets, so do not assume a Courtney Park pass covers Friday night.

Our take: treat this as a Mississauga film week, not a downtown TIFF-style hop. Pick two or three galas, leave room for a puja weekend later in October, and check the 18+ rule before you buy family seats.

When: October 8–18, 2026
Where: Cineplex Cinemas Courtney Park, Mississauga (plus Brampton special-event venues)
