ISKCON San Diego holds Govardhan Puja and Annakuta on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 1030 Grand Avenue in Pacific Beach. The temple posts a timed program, including a discourse by Badrinarayan Swami and prasadam to take home. A public ticket price is not posted.
Ticketed event

Govardhan Puja and Annakuta at ISKCON San Diego is Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 1030 Grand Avenue in Pacific Beach. The temple’s event listing is the lock. Diwali falls on that Sunday on the 2026 calendar. The program is the temple’s annakuta, the mountain of food offered after the Govardhan story, when Krishna lifts Govardhan Hill to shelter the people of Vrindavan.
The posted order is tight. Arati and kirtan start at 5:30. Abhishek and kirtan are at 6:00. Badrinarayan Swami, a senior ISKCON teacher who speaks often at this temple, gives a discourse at 6:30. Govardhan puja and circumambulation are at 7:15. A prasadam feast to take home is at 7:45. The page describes a small replica of the hill, made from sweets and other food, offered and then shared after the walk around it.
A public ticket price is not posted. The page notes that donations are tax-deductible. Do not call the night free. Confirm dana on iskconsandiego.com before you go. Dress is temple dress. Shoes off. The altar is open to see the deities during posted darshan windows. Children need a supervising adult on the property. Phone is (858) 429-9375. Email krishna.sandiego@gmail.com.
Pacific Beach is a coastal neighborhood, Grand Avenue between the bay and Garnet. Street parking is tight on a Sunday evening. Give yourself time. The temple is not on the trolley. Driving is what most families do. If you are new to the room, arrive a little early so the 5:30 arati is not a scramble from the curb. Bring a bag if you plan to take prasadam home; the feast is posted as takeaway, not a long sit-down buffet.
Deepotsav is already a month earlier at the Organ Pavilion. If you want a civic Diwali with a stage, that was October 3. This is the temple night on the actual date, quieter and timed for worship rather than a park program. SDAFF is mid-run November 5–14. A 5:30 p.m. puja can sit after an afternoon screening if the festival has posted a house by then.
GASD’s Navratri nights are over by October 17. This is a different holiday and a different organizer. ISKCON San Diego is the local Hare Krishna temple, part of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, at the San Diego Hare Krishna Temple on Grand. Regular daily aratis are posted on the same site and are a separate visit from this festival block.
Our take: go if this is your temple or you want a Diwali-Sunday annakuta with a named speaker and a take-home plate. Skip if you need a civic mela with vendors and a stage. Confirm dana the week of, and do not plan this as a drop-in after a late film without checking the schedule again.
