Kalapriya Diwali 2026 at Chicago Women's Park
Kalapriya holds Diwali on Saturday, November 7, 2026, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Chicago Women's Park and Gardens. Adults are $10. Children 10 and under are $4.
Tickets from $4
Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts holds its Diwali on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Chicago Women's Park and Gardens, 1801 South Indiana Avenue. Adults are $10. Children 10 and under are $4. Most of the party is indoors, so rain does not cancel the food and the dancing. Sparklers and diyas move to the courtyard if the weather allows.
Food and drinks come from Siri on Taylor. Kids get a craft table. Kalapriya's own dancers do an interactive set. The office number, if the courtyard plan changes, is 312-436-2789. The company's studio address on Wabash is the office. The party is the park building at 18th and Indiana. Do not navigate to the Wabash suite and wonder where the sparklers are.
Who this is for: South Loop and Near South Side families who want two hours, a plate, and a dance floor without driving to Lemont. HTGC's Vijayadashami bazaar is October 24 in Lemont. BIC Durga Pujo is the same weekend on the Near West Side. This November afternoon is the later Chicago date, with a price and a room.
Women's Park is the historic garden at 18th and Indiana, south of the Museum Campus and east of Chinatown. The nearest trains are a real walk, not a step from the door. Early November at 4:00 is already dusk. If you are coming with small kids, a ride to the door is kinder than a long walk in the dark after the sparklers. Arrive at 4:00 if you want food before the dancing starts. The courtyard is the last beat, and only if the sky cooperates.
Diwali day is Sunday, November 8. Kalapriya picked the Saturday before, while people can still get a sitter. Two hours is short on purpose.
A directory has listed a Diwali mela at Navy Pier on November 1. Navy Pier's own calendar does not show it. Do not plan around that listing. Kalapriya's page is the November date with a price, a room, and a clock.
Our take: pay the $10 if you want Chicago's clearest small Diwali this month. Go at 4:00, eat first, and stay for the courtyard only if the weather is actually clear.
When: November 7, 2026, 4:00–6:00 p.m. (adults $10, children 10 and under $4)
