The 25th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) is set for July 10–26, 2026, spanning five New York venues including Film at Lincoln Center, SVA Theatre, Korean Cultural Center New York, Anthology Film Archives, and IFC Center.

Film at Lincoln Center and the New York Asian Film Foundation present the landmark edition with more than 50 filmmakers expected for post-screening Q&As and special appearances.

Opening weekend and honors

Yeon Sang-ho's Colony opens the festival after its Cannes premiere and South Korean theatrical run. NYAFF will also screen a new 4K restoration of Train to Busan plus Yeon's Seoul Station and Peninsula, turning opening week into a focused retrospective on one of Korea's most exportable genre directors.

Joan Chen receives the Star Asia Lifetime Achievement Award on July 11, with Montréal, My Beautiful on the program. Screen International Rising Star honors go to Hong Kong's Angela Yeun and Japan's Sara Minami, each bringing multiple titles to the slate.

Tickets and planning

Film at Lincoln Center reports tickets for its NYAFF screenings go on sale Thursday, June 18, at 2:00 p.m. ET at filmlinc.org, with early access for FLC and NYAFF members at 12:00 p.m. ET. Additional venue details and non-Lincoln Center screenings are listed at nyaff.org.

For diaspora cinephiles in the tri-state area, this is the summer window where restorations, festival circuit winners, and North American premieres cluster before fall awards conversation begins. First-wave titles already announced include South Korea's The King's Warden, Hong Kong's Cold War 1994, and Sundance winner Filipiñana.
