Buddhist Church of Oakland hosts its Obon Festival Saturday, August 1, 2026, roughly 1:00–7:30 p.m., at 825 Jackson St. The church lists a food bazaar (1:00–5:00 p.m.), ikebana exhibit, temple tour, San Jose Chidori Band, and Obon Odori on Jackson Street from about 6:00–7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 2 holds Hatsubon and Obon services (not a full carnival day).
