Pistahan Parade and Festival 2026 at Yerba Buena
The 33rd Pistahan Festival returns free August 8–9, 2026 (11 a.m.–5 p.m.) at Yerba Buena Gardens and YBCA with Filipino arts, food contests, and six learning pavilions in SOMA Pilipinas.
Free admission

The 33rd Pistahan Festival is scheduled Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Yerba Buena Gardens and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in SOMA Pilipinas. Admission is free. FAAE founded the parade and festival in 1994 after more than 4,000 Filipino families were displaced for Moscone Convention Center and Yerba Buena Gardens redevelopment; it was the first outdoor event at the Gardens and remains a cultural-preservation anchor.
Expect a main stage at the Gardens plus six pavilions: Dance, Art, Innovation, Culinary, Health (presented by Kaiser Permanente), and Sports (Filipino martial arts such as Kali, Eskrima, and Arnis). Culinary pavilion contests listed for 2026 include Magnolia Purple Freeze, Magnolia Spicy Siopao & Siomai Showdown, an ice cream tasting bee, and a Ramar balut eating contest. Treat day-of performance boards as truth if slots shift.
BART or Muni to Powell Street Station, then a short walk, is the organizer recommendation. Paid parking sits at the 5th and Mission garage.
The weekend before, Nihonmachi Street Fair holds Japantown if you are stacking Bay Area culture Saturdays.
When: August 8–9, 2026 (11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
Where: Yerba Buena Gardens / YBCA, San Francisco, CA

Our take
Pistahan is the Filipino weekend that still carries SOMA history, not only a food court. Hit one pavilion deep (Culinary or Sports) instead of racing every booth, and use transit so you are not fighting Mission garage traffic at noon.
