Tacoma Buddhist Temple's Obon Festival is Saturday, August 1, 2026, 4:00–8:00 p.m., on Fawcett Street at the temple (1717 S. Fawcett Avenue, Tacoma). The official schedule opens booths and the beer garden at 4:00 p.m., with opening service at 4:30 p.m., Fuji Taiko at 5:00 p.m., dancing from 5:15 p.m., and a memorial candle observance at 8:00 p.m. Food includes teriyaki bowls, somen, shave ice, and a new strawberry mochi trifle.
Dance practices: July 14 and 16, 7:00–8:30 p.m. in the Temple Social Hall.
