The Big 4 are off the Grammys' Asian pop list. Japan and the Philippines are on it.

A submissions tracker shows no HYBE, YG, JYP, or SM songs in the new Grammy Asian pop category. Japanese and Filipino acts are campaigning in public.

As of Thursday, October 15, Korea time, a public tracker called The Grammy Guru showed no Best Asian Pop Music Performance submissions from HYBE, YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, or SM Entertainment.

The Recording Academy does not publish its entry list. This is the clearest public picture of who is sitting out the category people expected K-pop to fill.

Who already said no

BTS said in July they would not submit music, including Arirang. They hope people hear the music for itself, without sorting it by region or language. We wrote that when it landed, in the July note.

JYP later told Dispatch that Stray Kids had filed nothing for the 2027 Grammys. That confirmation is in the October 2 piece.

The new gap is the rest of the four companies. BLACKPINK, TWICE, and SM's newer girl group Hearts2Hearts are missing from the tracker, alongside Stray Kids. So are Belift Lab, ADOR, and Source Music, the other HYBE labels in the story.

YG and SM have not put out a statement. Their names are simply missing.

Who is campaigning

Electric Bloom, which tracks public For Your Consideration ads, went through those ads and a Forbes submission roundup. The campaigns it could see are mostly Japanese.

Kenshi Yonezu is up with "IRIS OUT." YOASOBI's "Orion" is on The Orchard's campaign. BABYMETAL and the LDH group f5ve are in that public set too, along with Yoshiki of X Japan and Josh Groban.

The Academy does not print its entries. These are the campaigns out in public.

The Filipino band Cup of Joe entered "Sandali." The boy group SB19 had already put up "Visa," and the girl group BINI had put up "Unang Kilig."

A Korean forum thread put the category near 116 submissions, and read the K-pop side as a broad refusal with a few teams still in. Latin Song, the new category beside it, was put near 519. Those counts are not from the Academy.

First-round voting for members runs through October 22. Electric Bloom has the nomination announcement on November 16. The ceremony is February 7, 2027, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Our take: BTS and Stray Kids already said no, and the tracker now has HYBE, YG, JYP, and SM missing too. The campaigns you can actually read are Japanese and Filipino. For the Korean side, start with Stray Kids and the BTS statement. Voting closes Thursday.
