The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre is listing Aki no Tabi, 秋の旅, for Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. The centre is at 6 Sakura Way, in the Don Mills office park east of the DVP. Use Sakura Way on maps and rideshares. Older mail and some listings still say Garamond Court; that is the old street name for the same cul-de-sac, not a second address.

This is a new seasonal program, not a rerun of a summer matsuri. The JCCC page names wagashi-making, ceramics, crochet, and journaling and paper-craft workshops, plus craft tables, live music, food and drink vendors, and a local market. The copy asks you to watch the page for a fuller grid. Ticket price, workshop capacity, and whether the workshops need a separate signup are not posted.

Treat 1 to 7 as the public window. Building hours on the same page (9 a.m. to 11 p.m.) are the centre's ordinary clock, not the festival. Reception hours are weekday and weekend desk times. Do not mix those into the event.

The JCCC is the long-running Japanese Canadian hub in this part of the city: museum and gallery shows, language and martial-arts classes, the Sedai oral-history work, and the Toronto Japanese Film Festival on other weekends. Aki no Tabi borrows that house, not a rented banquet hall. You are walking into a place that already teaches ikebana and taiko the rest of the year.

Japan Festival Canada already happened August 15–16 at Mississauga Celebration Square. That was the outdoor plaza weekend. Aki no Tabi is a November afternoon inside the JCCC, six hours, after Diwali week. If you missed the square, this is the indoor autumn version with crafts you can sit down for.

Sakura Way is a cul-de-sac of cultural buildings, not a downtown street. Drive or take the Don Mills bus and walk the last stretch. Winter arrives early in that parking lot. The 1 p.m. start is afternoon light. The 7 p.m. close is dinner hour, so eat on site if the vendors are what you came for.

Who this is for: Japanese Canadian families who already use the JCCC, and anyone who wants a quieter autumn craft day after October's film and puja weekends. Skip it if you need a published workshop lottery tonight. The centre says more detail is coming.

TCCFF is October 16–18 in Scarborough. Different community, same east-end habit of keeping the festival in a cultural centre instead of a downtown hall. Aki no Tabi is the Japanese Canadian date on that pattern.

Email the JCCC through the event page if you need access notes. The centre is used to school groups and seniors; ask before you assume a workshop is drop-in.

Our take: put it on the calendar as a Saturday craft afternoon, then refresh the JCCC page in October for prices and signup. Do not treat this as Japan Festival Canada indoors. The square was a crowd. This is a six-hour house program.

When: November 14, 2026 (1–7 p.m.)
Where: Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, 6 Sakura Way, Toronto, ON M3C 1Z5
