Amra Sabai Durga Puja at Airdrie Town & Country Centre

Amra Sabai of Calgary Association stages its 17th annual Sharodiya Durgotsav, Durga Puja 2026, from Saturday, October 17 through Tuesday, October 20 at Airdrie Town & Country Centre, 275 Jensen Drive NE #103. The Calgary Bengali nonprofit founded in 2010 treats the four days as the community’s main fall gathering: rituals for Maa Durga, cultural programs, a mela with stalls, and full meal service across the run.

Subscription is the ticket path this year. Amra Sabai lists four-day access only, with no single-day admission. Individual subscriptions are posted at $75, family of two at $149, and family of four at $199 for two adults plus up to two kids, with additional same-household members at $50 each. Children under six enter free. Access runs on non-transferable wristbands, and organizers say sales close when venue capacity is reached. Entertainment is part of the draw. The association has announced overseas and diaspora concert nights inside the puja window, including Avishek Sinha Chowdhury on October 18 and Ankita Bhattacharyya with 6E’s on October 19, plus a special evening program on October 17. Treat those as headline nights for music-first guests, then stay for the daily ritual rhythm that makes Durga Puja feel like home rather than a one-concert pop-up.

Who it is for: Bengali families across Calgary and southern Alberta, Bangladeshi and Indian diaspora guests who keep Sharodiya on the calendar, and friends willing to commit to a multi-day wristband instead of a single evening. Expect veg lunch, non-veg dinner, prasad, children’s meals, and snack service through the day according to the organizer’s subscription notes. Mela stalls typically lean sarees, children’s clothing, Panjabi and salwar sets, jewellery, and local craft vendors.

Airdrie sits about a half-hour north of central Calgary depending on Deerfoot traffic. Build buffer for evening concert nights. The Town & Country Centre lot is the practical parking play; rideshare works if you do not want to drive back after a late show. Dress modestly for mandap time and more festively for concert evenings if that is your lane.

Amra Sabai’s members mostly live in Calgary and drive north for the hall, so the weekend feels like a metro pilgrimage even with an Airdrie address. Keep an eye on the site for capacity cutoffs; once wristbands sell out, there is no single-day workaround this year.

Our take: this is the Bengali fall pilgrimage for the Calgary metro, even though the hall is in Airdrie. Buy the four-day pass early if you want the concert nights. If you only want a single Diwali party later in the month, look at NICC or BMO instead. Durga Puja rewards the people who stay for more than one aarti.
