Super Saturday: Mid-Autumn Family Day at Asia Society Texas

Asia Society Texas turns its September Super Saturday into a Mid-Autumn Family Day on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1370 Southmore Boulevard. Come-and-go crafts and a building scavenger hunt run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Performances begin at 11:30 a.m.

Expect lantern crafts, modeling-clay mooncakes, and Jade Rabbit–inspired projects for kids and adults. The stage block covers the Chang'e moon-goddess story, a Techno Prince dance mixing traditional and modern movement, and a theatrical Mid-Autumn origin play from the Houston Hanfu Association. Admission includes complimentary access to the Explore Asia exhibition and the Louisa Stude Sarofim Gallery.

The event is free, but registration is required. Asia Society’s Mid-Autumn Family Day sold out in 2025, with walk-ups not guaranteed, so treat the RSVP as the real ticket. No food-vendor market is listed for 2026, so eat before or after rather than counting on a night-market floor.

Our take: this is the easier Houston Mid-Autumn entry if you want a free Saturday program before the ticketed Children's Museum Mid-Autumn Festival on Sunday. Tokyo X is the bigger Japan weekend the same Saturday and Sunday at NRG if you are stacking indoor festivals.
