BAPS New York is listing Diwali and Chopda Pujan for Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 43-38 Bowne Street in Flushing. Evening arti is 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. Sharda Chopda Pujan, the sanctification of new account books, runs 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. The page says the evening ends with fireworks. New Year's Annakut is Tuesday, November 10, with a short morning window and a longer daytime darshan stretch printed on the same card. Phone on the listing is 718-539-5373.

Bowne Street sits in Flushing's dense South Asian and wider Asian corridor, a short trip from Main Street and the 7 train. Many Gujarati households already know this mandir for weekly darshan; Diwali night packs the same rooms with Chopda books, arti, and a fireworks close that neighbors will hear from the street. Shoes off, modest dress, and quiet phones are the usual rules. No ticket price is printed. Treat it as a temple visit unless a door flyer says otherwise.

Saturday already carried Edison Diwali at Papaianni Park and Asia Society on Park Avenue. Flushing Town Hall was November 1. Sunday is the Flushing mandir night on the holiday itself. Edison to Flushing is a different bridge and a different clock. Do not count on finishing a Middlesex County park at 9 and still catching Chopda Pujan at 7:30 in Queens the next evening as one casual loop unless you already live on this side of the river.

Who this is for: Flushing and Queens BAPS families, and anyone who wants Chopda Pujan and fireworks without a Central Jersey park drive. Skip it if you needed a free municipal field festival. That was Edison the night before.

Arrive for arti if you want the full arc. Arrive closer to 7:30 if Chopda Pujan is the reason you came. Confirm fireworks and any street-closure notes by phone the afternoon of. Flushing street parking on Bowne and nearby blocks gets tight once arti lets out; the 7 train still beats circling for a spot. Bring new account books only if your household actually uses that custom; the ceremony is the point either way. Annakut Tuesday is the longer food-darshan visit if Sunday is too short.

When: November 8, 2026 (arti 6:00–6:30 p.m.; Chopda Pujan 7:30–9:00 p.m.; Annakut Nov 10)
Where: BAPS New York, 43-38 Bowne St, Flushing, NY 11355
