Edison Diwali Festival 2026 at Papaianni Park

Edison Township Recreation is putting Diwali back in Papaianni Park, next to the municipal complex at 100 Municipal Boulevard.

The township's recreation page already has 2026 vendor, flyer, and sponsorship packets posted. Patch, citing Recreation's special-events desk, lists Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 5 to 9 p.m., with a November 14 rain date, and a crowd they put over 10,000. This is Oak Tree Road country. Edison and neighboring Iselin are the Central Jersey South Asian corridor people mean when they say Little India: grocers, jewelers, and the weekend restaurant load on Oak Tree and into Woodbridge. Vendor applications close October 26. There is no water or power hookup on the grass, which tells you what kind of field this is. Vendors bring their own generators. Prior editions used off-site lots and color-coded shuttles because the municipal complex cannot hold 10,000 cars. Ask Recreation for the 2026 parking map. Bring a layer. November in Middlesex County gets cold after 7.

The same Saturday, Asia Society New York is 1 to 4 p.m. on Park Avenue. That is a kids' indoor afternoon. This is the evening field. Diwali at Times Square is already two weeks gone. Flushing Town Hall was November 1.

Northeast Corridor to Metropark, then a short cab or local bus, is saner than circling Municipal Boulevard after 4. If you drive, give yourself lot time and follow the township shuttle notes, not a random pin.

Our take: go if you live in Central Jersey or you want the big municipal Diwali. Check the rain date. If you only want crafts and a puppet Ramleela, stay in Manhattan at 1 p.m.
