Ticketed event

Bhindeshi’s Sharod Utsav is Friday through Sunday, October 16–18, 2026, at the Gary D. Weikel Event Center, 14405 179th Avenue SE, Monroe, WA 98272. That is the Evergreen State Fairgrounds campus, about a 45-minute drive north of Seattle when traffic is kind.

Hours are not on the official page. Bhindeshi sends registration notes by email and through the Eventic app before the weekend.

This is a membership-first puja that still sells public passes. Pre-registration is mandatory, even when members have free entry. Non-members can buy individual event tickets when the portal opens. Meal coupons are extra, with a member discount. Vegetarian and kid options are listed on the RSVP. The group will refund entry or food only if you write info@bhindeshi.org at least 12 days before the day.

Bhindeshi is a Washington 501(c)(3) serving South Asian and Bengali families in greater Seattle and Bothell. Membership runs on the calendar year and does not roll over. The org also publishes Bhinkotha and runs kids’ Bangla classes. Sponsor language on the site talks about 3,500 attendees across a year’s major dates. Treat that as a year-round claim, not a Saturday headcount.

The posted 2026 card is ritual and a party in the same hall: pushpanjali, arati, sindoor khela, and Devi boron, plus cultural music and dance, bhog, shopping, and a DJ night with DJ Kapil. Dhaak is on the list. Wear puja clothes if you have them. The Weikel building is a fairgrounds box, not a mandir. You are there for the community room.

Uttoron’s Sharodotsav is the weekend before, October 9–11, at Magnuson Park Hangar 30 inside Seattle. That one has registration open and posted non-member prices. If you can only do one puja weekend, pick by geography: Sand Point versus Monroe. Fab Bangali lists the same October 16–18 dates at Sai Baba Temple in Redmond, free, without posted hours. Bhindeshi is the one with a full organizer page and a street address.

Diwali is later. Festál’s Lights of India is the free public Saturday, November 7, at Seattle Center. Bhindeshi’s own Shyama Utsav, their Kali Puja, is that same Saturday from 2:00 p.m. at Shoreline Community College, 16101 Greenwood Avenue N. Confirm on bhindeshi.org if Kali is the night you want.

Monroe is a car trip. US-2 and SR-522 are the usual approaches. Fairgrounds parking is on site. There is no useful Link ride. Write info@bhindeshi.org if the Eventic link is not in your inbox yet.

Our take: this is the drive-out puja for people already in the Bothell and Snohomish orbit. Register when the email lands. If you live in Seattle proper and have never been to a Bhindeshi night, try Uttoron first. The hangar is closer.

When: October 16–18, 2026 (hours not posted; confirm on Eventic)
Where: Gary D. Weikel Event Center, 14405 179th Ave SE, Monroe, WA 98272
