The City of Brampton is listing its fourth annual Diwali Mela for Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Sesquicentennial Park, 11333 Bramalea Road. The park night is free and built for families. It lands on Diwali itself, which also coincides with Bandi Chhor Divas for Sikh households, so the civic calendar and the holiday calendar finally line up on the same Sunday.
The RBC-presented main stage names Punjabi singer Sukhshinder Shinda as headliner, with Vandana Kaur opening after the fireworks. Earlier sets move through dance and folk programming, including Bhangra, Gidda, Kathak, Garba, and a dhol ensemble, before the mayor's remarks. Food vendors and activities for all ages fill the grounds while the stage turns over. Fireworks, presented by Performance Auto Group, run 7:30 to 7:45 p.m. A drone show follows 8:15 to 8:27 p.m. Both outdoor shows can cancel for wind or weather, so check the city's social channels before you leave home and again once you are in the park. Individual act times are not published. If Shinda is the reason you came, plan to stay past the drone window.
On-site parking is extremely limited and first come, first served. Free Brampton Transit shuttles run every 30 minutes from Mount Pleasant GO Station, Sheridan College, Gore Meadows Community Centre, and Brampton Soccer Centre. Shuttles to the park run 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. Return service runs 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Temporary closures hit Claremont Drive and stretches of Countryside Drive from 2:00 p.m. to 11:55 p.m., which can block neighborhood exits near Bramalea Road. Use brampton.ca/diwali for the live shuttle map and road notes rather than guessing from a pin.
Brampton bans personal fireworks under its Fireworks By-law, with penalties starting at $500. Sparklers are allowed under the by-law elsewhere in the city, but they are not allowed at this mela. Come for the city's official fireworks show instead of packing your own. The city also reminds people to keep music and other noise reasonable under its nuisance and noise by-laws once the park empties. Gerrard India Bazaar was Saturday night on Toronto's Little India strip. Viet Expo is the same Sunday in Mississauga. Diwali Milan was already Saturday at Vishnu Mandir. Brampton is the Peel civic park on Diwali night itself.
Who this is for: Brampton and GTA families who want a free park Diwali with a named stage and official fireworks. Skip it if you needed a seated mandir dinner. Richmond Hill covered that mood the night before.
Arrive by shuttle before 7:00 if fireworks are the close you came for. Stand early for the drone window. Bring a warm layer; six hours outdoors in November is a real night. Full details stay on brampton.ca/diwali.
When: November 8, 2026 (4:00–10:00 p.m.; fireworks 7:30; drone 8:15)
