JANM's free Natsumatsuri Family Festival runs August 15, 2026, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Terasaki Budokan in Little Tokyo with cultural performances, crafts, and activities for families.

JANM's Natsumatsuri Family Festival is Saturday, August 15, 2026, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Terasaki Budokan, 249 S. Los Angeles St. Admission is free. The museum pavilion is still closed for renovation, so the day lives at the Budokan instead.
JANM Band opens at 11, then a bon odori community dance at 11:30 with Elaine Fukumoto. Cold Tofu, the long-running Asian American improv group, is at 1. Kotolan plays at 1:45. J-Town Taiko Club closes at 2:30. Members get reserved seating for the sets.
Between stages there is origami, a baseball-cap craft, paper fans, a photo booth, and a stamp rally. Kids can actually finish something in an afternoon. Park once in Little Tokyo and walk. The Tanabata kazari at JACCC is around the corner, and Nisei Week is just getting started.
Go if you have kids or want a free Little Tokyo Saturday that ends before dinner. Leave room for the plaza later in the week.
