MoMo Festival 2026 Himalayan Food Festival in Irving

MoMo Festival returns Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 2–10 p.m. at Levy Event Plaza in Irving with Himalayan food, live entertainment, and ticketed entry.

Irving, Texas · 501 East Las Colinas Boulevard

MoMo Festival lists Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Levy Event Plaza, 501 East Las Colinas Boulevard in Irving. The organizer’s event board points visitors to momofestivals.com for tickets, but it has not posted a 2026 general-admission price yet.

The festival is built around momo, the filled dumplings found across Nepal and the wider Himalayan region, alongside Nepali music, dance, and family activities. Organizers call it the largest Himalayan food celebration beyond Nepal; treat that as their claim, not an independent ranking. Eating contests, a kids’ zone, and cooling areas were part of the 2025 program, not a locked 2026 lineup.

Parking is not a free plaza lot. The organizer’s visitor guide points drivers to paid garages at the Summit at Las Colinas, Riverside Commons, Waterway Tower, and Canal Center. Past editions were cashless and enforced clear-bag entry; verify both policies and the rule allowing children 10 and under in without a ticket before packing the car.

Our take: choose MoMo when dumplings and Nepali community energy beat another mooncake line. Pair a daytime stop at Crow Museum Community Day in Richardson if you want culture before the food sprint.

When: September 26, 2026 (2:00–10:00 p.m.)
Where: Levy Event Plaza, 501 East Las Colinas Boulevard, Irving, TX

Velveting, explained as a Chinese kitchen technique

Velveting is the Chinese prep step that keeps stir-fry chicken and shrimp tender instead of rubbery: a cornstarch-and-oil coat, a rest, then a quick par-cook before the wok. Here is how it works and why diaspora cooks are finally seeing the name match the method.
