RED FM Canada is listing Diwali Dhamaka, presented by Scotiabank, for Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dera Banquet, 2728 Hopewell Place NE. Entry is free. Reserve on Eventbrite before you go.

Use the Eventbrite event page, not a directory teaser. Title, schema, and body all say noon to 8. Some cards have shown 1:00 p.m. Do not use 1:00 p.m. when you build the day.

Sarthi K is the named draw. The listing promises live performances, food, festive shopping, a kids zone, and family programming. The rest of the stage is not printed. RED FM's own site groups Calgary with Toronto (October 24) and Vancouver/Surrey (November 7) on the same Sarthi K tour line, so treat the Calgary date as the Prairie stop, not a one-off hall rental with no station brand behind it.

This is the same RED FM product as Surrey Civic Plaza on November 7. Calgary is a banquet hall in the northeast, not a civic plaza. Same free-ticket path, different weather and parking problem. Indoor hours help if early November is wet; they also mean a tighter lot than an open plaza.

Indians In Calgary's Diwali Fest is October 30 at NICC on 30 Avenue NE. JAMMY CON runs October 31–November 1 at WinSport in the southwest with P1Harmony on the main stage. November 1 is a stacked Sunday: hall Diwali in the northeast or K-pop con west of downtown. Pick one corridor and stick to it. Crossing the city mid-afternoon between Hopewell and Canada Olympic Road is a bad plan with kids.

Who this is for: Northeast families who want a free radio-station Diwali without a temple clock. Skip it if you wanted Chinatown. The BIA has no remaining fall street date on our calendar.

Hopewell Place is an industrial-banquet belt near Deerfoot and Airport Trail. Drive. Give yourself parking time after noon when the kids zone fills. The hall format suits elders and strollers better than an open plaza, but it also means food and shopping lines share the same indoor floor.

Free still means reserving on Eventbrite, in case the organizer caps the count. Bring a layer for the walk from the lot even if the program stays inside.

Our take: noon if you have kids. Stay for Sarthi K if that name is why you came. Do not build the day around a 1 p.m. teaser, and do not try to stack WinSport the same afternoon unless your group splits.

When: November 1, 2026 (noon–8 p.m.)
Where: Dera Banquet, 2728 Hopewell Place NE, Calgary, AB T1Y 7J7

Free tickets on Eventbrite.

Velveting is the Chinese prep step that keeps stir-fry chicken and shrimp tender instead of rubbery: a cornstarch-and-oil coat, a rest, then a quick par-cook before the wok. Here is how it works and why diaspora cooks are finally seeing the name match the method.
