Buddhist Temple of Salinas hosts Obon on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from noon to 5 p.m. with San Jose Taiko, tea ceremony, kendo, food court, and odori, plus a free shuttle from Salinas Adult School.

Buddhist Temple of Salinas hosts its 2026 Obon Festival on Sunday, July 26 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 14 California Street. The temple’s published schedule includes Taiko Lily, tea ceremony, ikebana and bonsai demos, kendo, Chinese dance, a San Jose Taiko set at 3:00 p.m., Obon service, and Obon odori on the outdoor stage. Food court and gym food sales run all day; games sit outside the Hondo.
Parking at the temple is limited. Free shuttle service runs from the Salinas Adult School parking lot at 20 Sherwood Drive from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Admission to the grounds is free. Food and raffle are pay-as-you-go. Pair with San Francisco’s Bon Odori the same day if you are splitting a Bay Area weekend north and south.
