Sanskriti Bay Area is listing Durga Puja from Thursday, October 9, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. through Sunday, October 11, at 10:00 p.m. The hall is Newark Pavilion, 6430 Thornton Avenue.
That clock is on the Sanskriti event page. Treat the Thursday open and the Sunday close as locked. Do not invent Friday or Saturday hours from another Bay Area puja.
Sanskriti is a Bay Area 501(c)(3) that has run culture, charity, and adda work since 1998, per the group's own About copy. The festival door is Newark. The mailing address on the contact block is a San Jose P.O. box. Email is contact@sanskriti.org.
Thursday's printed rows start with Bodhon, Shashti puja, aarti, and pushpanjali from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., then dhunuchi naach from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. The page stacks more schedule items after that. Open "See All" on their site the day you go. Do not invent the rest of the grid here.
The page sells the three days as rituals, bhog, local cultural sets, vendor booths, and the Sanskriti adda room. The 2026 highlight line names a live performance by Jisshu Sengupta on Sunday, October 11, with a separate ticket path and sponsorship tiers that include show tickets. Follow Sanskriti's Facebook if that card moves.
Bhog is venue-only this year. Sanskriti stopped online bhog sales. Buy there until it runs out. Bring cash or whatever card setup the hall is using that weekend, and do not count on a leftover online confirmation.
Keep SV Sarbojonin on a separate pin. That group returns to Newark Junior High at 6201 Lafayette Avenue on October 24–25. Sanskriti is Newark Pavilion on Thornton in early October. Same city name, different organizers, different campuses, different Saturdays.
Abahan is the first-year Milpitas temple weekend, October 10–11. Prabasi takes the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds the following weekend, October 16–18. Sanskriti is the early East Bay pavilion card if you want a Thursday night start.
Thornton Avenue is an East Bay industrial stretch, not a downtown plaza. Drive. BART to Newark or Fremont still leaves a last ride. The pavilion is a banquet box. Parking is lot parking. Give yourself time on Sunday if the Sengupta set is the reason you came.
Who this is for: East Bay Bengali families who already know Sanskriti's hall rhythm and want Bodhon on the printed Thursday hour. Skip it if you wanted the fairgrounds concert weekend. That is Prabasi a week later. Skip it if you meant the late-October Newark school puja. That is SV Sarbojonin.
Our take: Thursday if you can use the Bodhon hour. Weekend if you want the full adda and bhog line. Check Sanskriti's Facebook the day before for the rest of the grid, and buy the Sunday show ticket on their path if that is the draw.
When: October 9–11, 2026 (Thu 5:30 p.m. start through Sun 10:00 p.m.)
Where: Newark Pavilion, 6430 Thornton Ave, Newark, CA 94560
