BTS's Arirang is back in the Billboard 200 Top 10. The World Cup helped.
Arirang jumps 26 to 9 on the Billboard 200 dated Aug. 1 after a special vinyl push and BTS's World Cup final Dynamite set, putting the March album back in the Top 10 four months later.

Arirang is back in the Top 10. Billboard's chart preview for the week dated Aug. 1 puts BTS's fifth studio album at No. 9 on the Billboard 200, up from No. 26 the prior week. That is a 17-spot jump four months after the March release, and it is the kind of Monday chart story entertainment desks actually chase: a receipt that ties stadium soft power to U.S. album math.
Billboard and Korean outlets point to the same two engines. A special Arirang vinyl edition with bonus tracks "Voice Message: Love Song" and the Korean version of "Normal" drove a sales bump. Maeil Business put the vinyl contribution near 40,000 equivalent units in the tracking week, with overall album-equivalent sales up about 62 percent. The other engine is July 19: BTS co-headlined the first FIFA World Cup final halftime show and performed Dynamite at MetLife Stadium, days after closing the European Arirang leg at Stade de France.
Our read: this is not nostalgia. It is conversion. Paris nights and a World Cup set are cultural heat. Vinyl shipping into the U.S. window turns heat into Billboard 200 units. The anniversary picture-disc package first went on sale around FESTA in June; U.S. retail shipping windows opened in mid-July, which lines up with the chart week that finally moved the album from the mid-20s back into the Top 10.
Context still matters. Arirang debuted at No. 1 in March and became the first K-pop album to spend three consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200. Korea Herald notes the set has now logged 13 weeks inside the Top 10, a first for a K-pop act on that tally. The rebound lands as the North American Arirang stadium run resumes Aug. 1 at MetLife, with multi-night stands through Foxborough, Baltimore, Arlington, Toronto, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
Pair the chart with the July Soft Power Index if you want the World Cup and Paris stack, and with our Billboard logistics guide if you want the unit math behind the vinyl bump. SWIM can have a Melon weather day and Arirang can still own the U.S. album board in the same month. Those facts can sit next to each other.
