BTS’s Arirang tour just crossed $500M. No pop group had done that before
Billboard Boxscore says BTS’s Arirang world tour has surpassed $500 million in ticket sales, the first pop group to hit that mark on one tour. About 40 shows remain, with a possible path toward $1 billion.

BTS’s Arirang world tour has cleared $500 million in cumulative ticket sales. Billboard Boxscore published the figure on September 30. Fewer than twenty tours in Boxscore history have crossed that line. Among groups, BTS is the seventh. The first six were rock bands.
Pop groups have packed stadiums for years. Half a billion on a single tour was still a rock-band milestone until this report.
How August moved the number
Across twelve North American stadium shows in August, BTS grossed $171.7 million and sold 801,000 tickets, reclaiming No. 1 on Billboard’s monthly Top Tours chart. It is the second-biggest one-month Boxscore gross on record, just under Beyoncé’s $179.3 million from August 2023.
The biggest August stop was MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey: $32.7 million and 158,000 tickets across Aug. 1 and 2.
The rest of the month was doubleheaders at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Soldier Field in Chicago, and Rogers Centre in Toronto. Each of those stops landed between $24 million and $30 million. Five of the six cracked Top Boxscores’ top ten.
This is BTS’s fifth month at No. 1 on Top Tours, after earlier wins this year plus 2022 and 2019. Only Bad Bunny (ten), and Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Elton John (seven each) have spent more time there.
What is still on the calendar
The tour opened April 9 at Goyang Stadium outside Seoul, the full-group return after military service. When Boxscore published the half-billion mark, roughly forty shows were still ahead: fourteen in South America through October, then Asia dates from late November into March 2027. Billboard projects the final tally could approach $1 billion. That remains a forecast, not a finished receipt.
Pollstar’s Q3 worldwide tally, covering reported shows through Aug. 12, had already put Arirang at $465.8 million from thirty-eight dates, ahead of Beyoncé’s full-year Cowboy Carter total from 2025. Boxscore’s $500 million cut uses a different ledger and a later sample. Together they describe a stadium run already operating at the top of the market, with months of dates still to report.
An earlier Scene Report on host-city tourism tracked the hotels, pop-ups, and neighborhood card spend around those nights. Boxscore is the ticket half of the same picture: sold seats first, then the city spend that follows them.
The same week Stray Kids joined BTS in sitting out Grammy submissions over the Asian Pop category, the tour numbers kept treating the group as global stadium business. Awards politics and ticket markets are arguing different cases.
South America opened Oct. 2 in Bogotá. The half-billion figure was already booked before those nights reported. The months ahead only add to it.
