NewJeans opens summer as four, before ADOR opens a schedule

On their fourth debut anniversary, NewJeans dropped 2026 Summer of NewJeans films and photos with Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein. ADOR calls it a gift for Bunnies; the schedule still waits on finished talks.

At midnight KST on July 22, NewJeans marked four years since Attention with something quieter than a comeback date and louder than a silent anniversary. The official channel posted 2026 Summer of NewJeans: individual films for Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein, plus a short group film where the four find each other again. Photos landed on the homepage and Instagram at the same time.

It is the first proper group content in about a year and four months. That gap is the whole weather system around this drop: court fights with ADOR, the NJZ detour, members returning one by one, Danielle's contract ending in late 2025. Fans have been carrying the lineup question longer than any teaser cycle.

Seeing Minji in the frame with Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein is the emotional answer a lot of people needed before they can care about chart math again. Her appearance does not, by itself, close every agency question in public. It does settle who is on camera for this anniversary.

ADOR is careful on purpose. The label says the films were made so the members could celebrate with Bunnies who waited, and that specific activity plans come after talks with the members are finished. So this is a reopen of the room, not a timetable. Last new music was still the Japanese single Supernatural in June 2024. Anything next would be their first release in more than two years.

The films themselves stay soft. Daylight, bunny motifs, separate walks that gather into one chain of hands. It feels like NewJeans remembering how to look like NewJeans, which is part of why the reunion lands. The group that once surprised the industry with a midnight debut is using the same anniversary clock to say: we are four, and we are here, even if the next single is still behind closed doors.

Danielle was not in the package. She posted her own Instagram note the same day about cloudy stretches and light coming back. Different chapter, same calendar date. The fandom will hold both feelings at once. That is allowed.

Our take

Do not treat this like a confirmed summer comeback until ADOR names one. Treat it like what it is: NewJeans choosing to show their faces together on the day that made them a group. For listeners who kept the old playlists warm through the lawsuit years, that is already a real update. Watch the films, notice who is in them, and wait for the schedule the way you wait for good weather. When the date finally drops, you will already know who is walking into it.

Head in the Clouds returns August 8 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl with KATSEYE headlining a one-day bill that also includes XG, Rich Brian, Dabin Remix, and UMI. The interesting part is the identity flip: HITC used to prove Asia could top an LA festival; the top of the bill is now a HYBE-Geffen global group already fluent in Coachella and Hot 100 math.
