FOG, Festival of Globe, puts on the 34th Festival of India Mela and Parade Saturday and Sunday, August 15–16, 2026, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 39439 Paseo Padre Parkway in Fremont. Entry is free.

This is the East Bay India Day you plan a whole afternoon around. Expect parade floats, live music and dance, Indian food, a handicraft bazaar, and a kids' zone. Bring cash for snacks and a hat. August in Fremont on Paseo Padre has almost no shade once the parade crowd fills in. Sunday is usually a little easier than Saturday if you can wait a day.

Park once and stay. Circling Central Park lots after 11 a.m. is a bad time. BART to Fremont plus a short rideshare beats I-880 if you are coming from the city.

Same Saturday, downtown San Jose has Swades from 3 p.m. if you want the night parade instead. FOG is the daytime family version. Do one well.

When: August 15–16, 2026, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Where: 39439 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont, CA 94538
