Pilipino American Community Endeavor is listing the 5th Annual Lone Star Palengke for Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Sound at Cypress Waters, 3111 Olympus Boulevard, Coppell. Eventbrite tickets are free, and the schema lists a $0 offer through the door window.

Use the Eventbrite card for the 2026 room. The PACE page at pacedfw.co/lsp still describes a Kapwa Concert Parade throughout Asia Times Square. That is leftover venue copy. Coppell is the lock. The org page also still carries a 2024 footer line. Trust the dated Eventbrite address over the parade sentence.

PACE frames this as the largest Filipino American market in North Texas, open to anyone. Last year they quoted 135 booths. Expect food trucks, karaoke, tinikling, a jeepney photo, a history exhibit, and a mini car show if those blocks still hold. The concert-parade line is the part that may not survive the venue change. Ask at the gate.

Eventbrite's FAQ is useful planning math. The Sound is listed as wheelchair accessible. Kids are welcome. Dogs are allowed on leash, with a dog park on the campus if your crew brings a pet. Food is Filipino vendors plus the surrounding Cypress Waters restaurants if someone needs a quieter plate.

PACE is a DFW Filipino community org, not a city parks department. Lone Star Palengke is their visibility play for Filipino American History Month: booths, orgs, and a Kapwa concert frame on the Eventbrite title. The mission line is about growth, history, and celebration. The practical line is a free Sunday market with room for kids.

Cypress Waters is a corporate-lake campus north of DFW Airport, not a street fair on Pioneer Parkway. Drive. Register the free ticket so they have a count. The Sound sits between office and residential blocks, so lot timing matters more than street parking. If someone in your group needs a quieter meal, the campus restaurants around The Sound are the backup the FAQ already names.

The same Sunday is the already-live Irving dragon boat, kite, and lantern festival from about 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Lake Carolyn. Pick Coppell or Irving. They are not a stack. Filipino American History Month gets the market Sunday; Irving gets the boats.

Who this is for: DFW Filipino families who want a market afternoon with room for kids and a leash. Skip it if you wanted Grand Prairie's later night market. That is HKMKT October 23–25.

Our take: noon if you want first pick of stalls. Leave by 4 if Irving is your evening. Do not go to Asia Times Square for this date.

When: October 4, 2026 (noon–6 p.m.)
Where: The Sound at Cypress Waters, 3111 Olympus Blvd, Coppell, TX 75019

Free tickets on Eventbrite. Org page at pacedfw.co/lsp.

Velveting is the Chinese prep step that keeps stir-fry chicken and shrimp tender instead of rubbery: a cornstarch-and-oil coat, a rest, then a quick par-cook before the wok. Here is how it works and why diaspora cooks are finally seeing the name match the method.
