Plano, Texas · 2001 Coit Road

K-Buddy, also billed as Korean Buddy, is listing Taste of Korea in DFW for Saturday and Sunday, November 21–22, 2026, at Park Pavilion Center, 2001 Coit Road in Plano. Saturday runs 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday is shorter, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Eventbrite card frames a cultural festival and expo with Korean food booths plus craft and pop-culture activity tables, including hanbok try-ons and fan making. Sponsors named on the page include DFW Chinatown Coit LLC and zTao Market.

Park Pavilion Center sits on the Coit corridor that already carries Korean grocery and restaurant traffic for northern Plano and Richardson. It is a different site from The Vista lot in Lewisville and from Carpenter Park downtown. Korean Festival Lewisville is November 14–15 on Stemmons. Taste of Korea is the next weekend, closer to Plano households who did not want the Denton County drive. Panda Fest already covered the ticketed downtown Asian food weekend earlier in the month.

The June 2026 Taste of Korea edition at the same Pavilion used a free Eventbrite RSVP. The November card is also on Eventbrite. Check the live ticket type before you leave home; June's free RSVP does not automatically apply to November. Food and activity booths will still cost money once you are inside.

Expect a mall-pavilion circulation pattern: booths, samples, photo spots, and short activity lines rather than a civic lawn with fireworks. Three to five hours is the whole public window depending on the day. Sunday's 1:00 start is useful if Saturday sports or church ate the morning. Arrive near open on Saturday if you want shorter food lines.

Who this is for: Plano, Richardson, and north Dallas families who want a Korean food-and-craft expo on Coit without driving to Lewisville again. Skip it if you already spent both days at the association festival and only wanted one Korean weekend this month.

RSVP on the Eventbrite link the week of. Watch for lot rules at Park Pavilion Center; shopping-center parking fills when several events share the weekend. Pair it with a regular Coit grocery run if that is already your corridor, then leave before the Sunday close.

When: November 21–22, 2026 (Sat 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Sun 1:00–4:00 p.m.)
Where: Park Pavilion Center, 2001 Coit Rd, Plano, TX 75075

Listing on Eventbrite.

Velveting, explained as a Chinese kitchen technique

Velveting is the Chinese prep step that keeps stir-fry chicken and shrimp tender instead of rubbery: a cornstarch-and-oil coat, a rest, then a quick par-cook before the wok. Here is how it works and why diaspora cooks are finally seeing the name match the method.
