SARGAM, the Sacramento Regional Association of Malayalees, hosts Mega Onam on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from noon at Hiram Johnson High School, 6879 14th Avenue. Onam is Kerala's harvest festival. The sadhya, the vegetarian feast on a banana leaf, is the reason to buy a meal slot with your ticket.
Buy both on sargam.us before you go. Do not show up hungry and hope. Sadhya sells out.
Expect community dance, music, and the usual school-gym Onam: kids on stage, aunties in the food line, and a long afternoon. Park in the school lots off 14th. Oak Park in August is hot. The gym will be louder than you think.
Membership is on the same page if you come every year.
This is the week after IAS Mega India Day in Folsom. Different language, different lunch, same August calendar. Give yourself time on 14th Avenue. The school lot fills once the sadhya seating starts.
When: August 22, 2026, from noon
Where: Hiram Johnson High School, 6879 14th Ave, Sacramento, CA 95820
