A Shop for Killers S2 just set Disney+'s Korean first-day record
Disney Korea says A Shop for Killers Season 2’s July 22 drop was the most-watched Korean original first day worldwide on Disney+, beating Season 1 and topping APAC Korean content the same day.

Agent Kim Reactivated spent July proving father-revenge can own both SBS and Netflix. The hangover queue already had a name. Now it has a receipt.
According to The Walt Disney Company Korea, A Shop for Killers Season 2’s July 22 premiere (episodes 1 and 2) became the most-watched Korean original series on Disney+ worldwide on its first day. It also ranked as the most-watched Korean content across the Asia-Pacific region that day, and it beat Season 1’s first-day performance. Edaily and Sportalkorea carried the company line on July 25. Exact hour counts were not published. The ranking claim is the usable fact.
What you are actually watching
Season 1 (2024) was already Disney+’s Asia Pacific flagship Korean original for months, with New York Times and TIME year-end nods in the bag. Season 2 keeps Kim Hye-jun’s Ji-an as the mall’s new boss and brings Lee Dong-wook’s uncle Jin-man back from a fake death to fight Babylon. Japanese cast additions widen the assassin map. Eight episodes total. Two drop every Wednesday through August 12. In the U.S., the title sits on Disney+ and Hulu.
That is the opposite of a finished binge. It is a weekly appointment that starts after you have already seen the uncle-niece training logic in Season 1. If you have not, clear Season 1 first. The warehouse rules matter.
Our take
Our post–Agent Kim list already put this in the “still airing / protective family” lane. The Disney Korea first-day claim upgrades it from smart queue to proven summer counterweight: short seasons, family stakes, and a platform that is not Netflix. Pair with the finale Scene Report if you need the July soft-power frame, then open Season 2 for the Wednesday drops. Our read is simple. If the group chat wants more protective violence without another So Ji-sub chapter, this is the one with fresh math.
