BAPS Boston is listing Diwali and Chopda Pujan for Sunday, November 8, 2026. Chopda Pujan is the sanctification of new account books for the year ahead, a Diwali business and household custom in many Gujarati families. Annakut darshan follows on Tuesday, November 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Read the live BAPS pages carefully before you drive. The Global Network upcoming-events card for Boston puts Dhan Teras and Chopda Pujan at 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, 50 Stedman Street, Lowell. A parallel boston/events card shows 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and prints 50 Westford Road, Tyngsborough, on the same Diwali line. Mandir contact mail still uses the Stedman Street Lowell address. Confirm which pin and which clock the mandir is using the week of November 8. Do not invent a merge of the two cards.

VYO Boston Diwali is the same Sunday, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at the Shrinathji Haveli on Lakeview Avenue with parking on Aiken Street. That is a different tradition and a different building. Lowell can hold both evenings. You still cannot sit in both rooms at once. Pick the mandir or the haveli before you leave the house.

MFA Diwali was the museum day on November 1. Saturday, November 7, carries Loy Krathong in Harvard Square and the Korean Jeong festival in Kendall. Sunday is the temple and haveli night. Annakut on Tuesday is the longer food-darshan visit if the Sunday ceremony is too short for your family.

Who this is for: BAPS families and guests who want Chopda Pujan on Diwali evening in the Lowell-Tyngsborough corridor. Skip it if you needed a free civic craft hour. Quincy already covered that on Saturday.

Shoes off, modest dress, and quiet phones are the usual mandir rules. Call the Lowell mandir line on baps.org if the dual address still reads unclear by Friday. Bring new account books only if your household actually uses that custom; the ceremony is the point either way.

When: November 8, 2026 (confirm 7:00–8:30 p.m. vs 4:30–6:30 p.m. on live BAPS pages; Annakut Nov 10, 11:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.)
Where: BAPS Boston / Lowell mandir listings. Confirm 50 Stedman St, Lowell, or the Tyngsborough Westford Road pin before you go.
