Tickets from $38
Indian Society of Calgary is listing UTSAV: Diwali Fest 2026 for Saturday, November 14, at Genesis Centre, 7555 Falconridge Boulevard NE. Showpass puts the night at 5:00 to 10:30 p.m. Mountain. The event copy also says 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. Plan on a long evening either way. Dinner and entertainment come with admission. Festive or traditional dress is encouraged.
This is the big northeast hall date after the early November free and community nights. RED FM Diwali Dhamaka already ran November 1 at Dera Banquet. Diwali day itself was November 8. Utsav is the post-holiday Saturday when families can still fill a Genesis Centre room without fighting the exact calendar night. The Indian Society frames it as one of Calgary's larger Diwali celebrations: cultural and theatrical sets, live music and dance, and a plated Indian dinner in the same ticket.
Showpass lists seating tiers from about $38 CAD up through platinum and reserved table packages that climb much higher. Child tickets cover ages 4 to 9. Every guest, including children, needs a ticket. Tables and exact seats inside a section are assigned by the organizer. Sales are final and non-refundable unless the Society cancels without a replacement. Bring whatever QR or confirmation Showpass emails. Do not show up hoping for a walk-up seat.
Genesis Centre sits in Falconridge in the northeast, the same corridor many South Asian families already use for sports, community programs, and earlier festival nights. It is not downtown Chinatown and not Rocky View County. Parking fills for Saturday night shows. Arrive closer to 5:00 if you want dinner without a rush. Allergies are on you: the Society notes dinner may come from independent caterers and cannot promise an allergen-free room.
The same Saturday, Gujarati Mandal of Calgary holds its family Diwali dinner at Rajveer Banquet Hall on 52 Avenue NE. That is a member-heavy vegetarian night with a stricter dress code. Utsav is the broader Indian Society stage-and-dinner product a short drive away in Falconridge. Pick one hall. Crossing northeast Calgary mid-evening with kids between Genesis and Rajveer is a bad plan.
Who this is for: northeast and citywide South Asian families who want a seated Diwali night with dinner in the ticket, not a free plaza. Skip it if you only wanted a short temple aarti. This is a multi-hour banquet show.
Check Showpass again the week of for any seating sellouts. Kids stay with a parent. Photography will happen in the room; the Society's terms say crowd photos may be used for community promotion.
When: November 14, 2026 (5:00–10:30 p.m. on Showpass; some copy says to 11:00)
Where: Genesis Centre, 7555 Falconridge Blvd NE, Calgary, AB

Velveting is the Chinese prep step that keeps stir-fry chicken and shrimp tender instead of rubbery: a cornstarch-and-oil coat, a rest, then a quick par-cook before the wok. Here is how it works and why diaspora cooks are finally seeing the name match the method.
