Mississauga Mid-Autumn and Lantern Festival 2026 at Square One

The 2nd Annual Mississauga Moon and Lantern Festival runs Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7, 2026 at Square One Shopping Centre lot P6 (100 City Centre Drive). Admission is free. The Ontario Asian Night Market Series produces the long weekend as a Mid-Autumn celebration with lantern displays, cultural performances, mooncakes, food vendors, shopping booths, and family activities.

Published hours: Friday, September 4, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, September 5–6, noon to 11:00 p.m.; Monday, September 7 (Labour Day), noon to 11:00 p.m. The festival uses the P6 surface lot beside Canada's largest mall, not Celebration Square, so navigate to City Centre Drive and follow night-market signage rather than the square address.

Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhongqiu Jie) marks harvest moon and family reunion across Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and other Asian communities. Year two in Mississauga expands the night-market frame the series tested in other GTA suburbs: lanterns after dark, food rows, and a Labour Day weekend window when families already have Monday off.

Who this is for: Mississauga and Peel families who want lantern photos without driving to downtown Chinatown, and night-market hunters stacking Fête Chinoise later in September. Skip it if you need a walkable urban street fair; this is a parking-lot market beside a mall.

Square One GO and MiWay connections make transit workable; lot P6 fills on holiday weekends, so arrive Friday evening or early Saturday if you hate circling. Bring cash and card; vendor mix shifts nightly.

Year one proved the 905 wants a lantern market without driving to downtown Spadina or Markham ticketed galas. Visit Mississauga and nightmarkets.ca list the event as free admission with roughly 85 vendor booths in the 2025 footprint; expect similar density in year two across the four-night run.

Labour Day Monday is the sleeper night: locals know Saturday is peak crowd, while Monday still runs noon to 11 p.m. with shorter line waits at mooncake and skewer stalls. If you are visiting from Toronto proper, UP Express to Port Credit plus a short bus beats parking in P6 on Saturday.

The Ontario Asian Night Market Series also stages summer markets in other suburbs; Mississauga's Mid-Autumn edition is the seasonal flagship, not a weekly repeat. That makes this the one bookmark for lantern photos in Peel Region each fall.

Our take: pick one evening for lanterns and food, not all four nights unless you live in the 905. Friday opening night is underrated if you want photos without Saturday crush.
