New on Netflix: Asian Movies and Shows (August 2026)
Mid-August Netflix queue for Asian and diaspora titles in the U.S. and Canada: Jung Hae-in's Our Sticky Love and The Ribbon Hero are already up, Spooky in Love wraps this weekend, and Song Kang's piano drama starts August 29.

August already gave North America two finished Netflix nights. Our Sticky Love, the Jung Hae-in rom-com, dropped all 12 episodes on August 7. The Ribbon Hero, Netflix's Princess Knight anime film, landed the next day.
The rest of the month is appointment TV. Spooky in Love closes August 22 and 23. Song Kang's arts-high-school drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas starts August 29.
Our read: pick one closed story and one weekly. The slate is wide enough to waste a weekend if you treat every row as homework.

Rows stay off this table until Netflix, Tudum, or Korean, Japanese, Thai, or Indian press names a date. Mousetrap is still in that holding pen.
Start here
Our Sticky Love is the August original that actually arrived as a full season. Jung Hae-in, back on Netflix after D.P., plays a boxing coach who claims to be the boyfriend of Ha Young, the Teach You a Lesson actress, after she wakes up with amnesia in a taffy town. Kim Jang-han, who directed My Demon, shot it as romance with a crime engine underneath. Twelve episodes is two nights, not six weeks.
If you want a movie instead, The Ribbon Hero is the cleaner Saturday. Greta Lee's The Last House is the louder one: a family sealed inside their home, 112 minutes.
Unlucky Bae is the local-first Thai title on a Thursday clock. That is the Southeast Asia commissioning lane our Scene Report described: a show built to work at home, then travel.
Still running, or already done
The Apartment Job, Ji Sung's JTBC housing-corruption comedy, finished August 16 and remains a complete Netflix watch.
Take a Hike! premieres August 18. It is winter-mountain variety in midsummer, not a drama substitute.
July leftovers still earn a slot if you skipped them: The East Palace, Wild Sing, and Teach You a Lesson. Wonderfools is not an August TBA. It has been up since May 15.
How to use this page
- If you have one free weekend, start Our Sticky Love or The Ribbon Hero.
- If you already ride Saturday-Sunday K-drama, finish Spooky in Love before Four Hands takes the tvN slot.
- Confirm the title in your regional Netflix app. Canada usually matches on originals and can lag on licensed weeks.
See July for the month you may have skipped, and September for what is confirmed next. The year-long Korean list lives on upcoming Netflix K-dramas.
We will add Four Hands episode notes after August 29, and we will not invent a Mousetrap date to fill the row.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Our Sticky Love weekly or all at once?
- All 12 episodes dropped on August 7. Treat it as a weekend binge, not a Saturday appointment.
- Are these titles the same in Canada?
- Netflix originals usually match the U.S. Licensed weekly dramas can lag. If a row is missing in your app, check the where-to-watch K-drama guide before assuming it never arrived.
- Is Mousetrap coming this month?
- Not on this page. Dates have bounced between mid and late August in aggregator coverage. We add the row when Netflix or Korean press locks one.
