Toronto's Asian food day works when you pick one corridor and commit. Streetcars own Spadina and East Chinatown. Line 1 owns Willowdale Korean. Pacific Mall and Agincourt are car half-days, not add-ons after Dundas dim sum. Use this page for neighborhoods and meal starts. Neighborhoods to know
Spadina Chinatown (Dundas / Spadina)
Spadina Avenue between College and Queen, with Dundas Street West as the cross-street spine, is downtown's Chinese orientation point. Ornamental streetcar-stop gates mark the Spadina × Dundas island. Expect BBQ windows, order-ticket dim sum, bakeries, and Kai Wei for a grocery haul. Kensington Market sits immediately west as a short add-on, not a second corridor. Weekend meters fill fast. Do not stack Markham the same afternoon.
East Chinatown (Gerrard / Broadview)
Gerrard Street East between Broadview and Carlaw is Toronto's quieter second Chinatown, with more Vietnamese-Chinese mix and its own archway. Cheaper egg-tart picnic energy toward Riverdale Park East. Streetcar-friendly and easy after or instead of Spadina. Do not also drive Pacific Mall the same day.
North York / Willowdale Korean (Yonge)
Yonge Street from roughly Sheppard north toward Cummer holds Korean restaurant and grocery density in Willowdale. Line 1 (Sheppard–Yonge, North York Centre, Finch) makes this a clean subway day. Strip-mall barbecue and tofu rooms, not tourist-gate crowds.
Scarborough Agincourt (Sheppard corridor)
Sheppard Avenue East around Kennedy, Midland, and Brimley is the classic Chinese ethnoburb. Plaza hopping favors a car. Historic Dragon Centre launched the suburban mall wave; treat current Sheppard sit-downs and Foody Mart stops as the product, not nostalgia tours of closed malls.
Markham / Pacific Mall
Pacific Mall at 4300 Steeles Avenue East (Steeles × Kennedy, Markham side) is the required GTA suburb destination: Heritage Town food-court theater upstairs, free lots, half-day commitment. First Markham Place and Denison Centre sit nearby for sit-down BBQ and dumpling rooms. Market Village next door closed in 2018 and was demolished; ignore blogs that still treat it as open. Car is the honest default (404 / 407 / Steeles); GO Milliken works if you refuse to drive.

Mi Mi Restaurant (686A Gerrard St E): family Vietnamese since 1994; confirm the exact storefront number before you go.
Bamboo Leaves (649 Gerrard St E): zongzi and frozen Cantonese takeaway when you want cash-and-carry.
Willowdale Korean
Daldongnae Korean BBQ (6034 Yonge St): charcoal Korean BBQ near Yonge and Cummer.
Mapo Gamjatang (4916 Yonge St): pork bone soup specialist.
Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu (5445 Yonge St): soft tofu stew.
The Famous Owl of Minerva (5324 Yonge St): late gamjatang reputation on the same strip.
Agincourt
Perfect Chinese Restaurant (4386 Sheppard Ave E): since 1984; all-day Cantonese, dim sum, and seafood energy, often listed 24/7.
Congee Queen (3850 Sheppard Ave E, Unit 0425, Agincourt Mall): Cantonese congee and noodle plates.
Markham / Pacific Mall
Pacific Mall Heritage Town food court (4300 Steeles Ave E): first-timer default for Hong Kong snack stalls.
Fish Ball Place and Sun's Kitchen inside the mall food court cover curry fish balls and cooked-to-order staples.
Ding Tai Fung (3235 Highway 7 E, Suite 18B): xiao long bao destination in the First Markham Place orbit (not Din Tai Fung).
Jian Hong Yuen BBQ House (1661 Denison St): sit-down Cantonese BBQ at Denison Centre when you want a table away from food-court lines.
Markets and errands
Spadina's Kai Wei Supermarket (253 Spadina Ave) covers the strip grocery haul; downtown T&T (26 Edward St) sits a short walk off Spadina if you need a larger cart. East Chinatown shops at Fu Yao Supermarket (639–645 Gerrard St E). Willowdale runs through H Mart North York (5323 Yonge St) and H Mart Finch (5545 Yonge St). Agincourt leans on Foody Mart (355 Bamburgh Circle) and Foody World (8 William Kitchen Rd). Markham groceries at FreshWay inside First Markham Place (3275 Hwy 7) or T&T Markham (7070 Warden Ave). Do markets before dinner rush if you are stocking a hotel fridge.
